Dr. Michael Morshedi’s background brings together science, student leadership, and clinical training—a foundation for thoughtful, personal eye care.
Dr. Morshedi earned his undergraduate degree in Math and Chemistry as a pre-med student at Virginia Commonwealth University. His Organic Chemistry professor selected him to tutor athletes through the Department of Athletic Advising. As a senator in the Student Government Association, he also helped with The Learning Center at VCU.
He then completed post-baccalaureate master’s coursework in Physiology at the Medical College of Virginia before accepting a presidential scholarship to attend the Pennsylvania College of Optometry in 2006. He scored in the 99.3rd percentile on the Optometry Admissions Test and was accepted to every school to which he applied, including SUNY.
He chose the Pennsylvania College of Optometry primarily for its externship program. His clinical training included work with two Bascom Palmer ophthalmologists in Miami, Florida, as well as Dr. Alberto Martinez and the National Naval Medical Center in Bethesda, Maryland.
At Morshed Eye, questions are welcome. Your symptoms, family history, medications, work, and everyday activities all help shape an individual plan. Findings should be explained in language you can understand, with a clear discussion of monitoring, treatment options, and the reasons for a referral when one is needed.
